LRS provides custom development of both native mobile applications and progressive web applications (PWAs). Each approach has its strengths, and our team can help you decide which best fits your goals, budget, and audience.
Native Apps
Native applications make full use of device hardware like GPS, push notifications, Bluetooth, or camera access. These apps are written in Swift for iOS® and Kotlin for Android®, then published to the Apple App Store and Google Play. Once approved, they’re available for download by users.
LRS® has deep expertise in native app development, including direct integration with Antilles CMS, which allows seamless content updates between your website and mobile applications.
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
PWAs look and feel like native apps but are delivered through a web browser. They can be saved to a device’s home screen, updated instantly without app store approval, and often launched more quickly than native apps.
While PWAs support features like location services and photo capture, some capabilities — such as push notifications or Bluetooth — may not work consistently across iOS® and Android®. For many businesses, though, PWAs are a cost‑effective, flexible option.
When should PWAs be used?
PWAs are better suited for applications that do not need access to unique hardware functionality. PWAs can be quicker to update because they do not require going through an app store review process and may save on costs because development for iOS® and Android® does not require developing in two separate languages.
